Ruane approves new post-16 provision at Dromore High School

Education Minister, Caitríona Ruane, has approved a Development Proposal to allow for post-16 provision at Dromore High School.

The Minister said: “The new sixth form will offer A-level courses to be taught in the school and other post-16 courses taught in conjunction with the Southern Regional College.

“I am confident this new provision will be well supported by pupils and parents alike and I wish everyone involved well for the future.”

Notes to editor:

  1. The Southern Education and Library Board published Development Proposal 234 on 23 April 2009 to the effect that post-16 provision should be established at Dromore High School with effect from 1 September 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter.
  2. Dromore High School is an 11-16 co-educational controlled secondary, non-grammar school with a current enrolment of 784 years 8-12.
