First4Skills announced it was going into administration on 24 September. The company had a contract with the Department for Employment and Learning to provide training provision for the ApprenticeshipsNI programme. First4Skills was providing training for 993 apprentices and employed 38 people at the time.
The Minister said: “My primary concern during this process has been to ensure an effective resolution for the 993 apprentices to allow them to continue with their training and to complete their apprenticeships.
“Today the necessary processes have been concluded and the contract formerly managed by First4Skills has been assigned to Totalis People Limited, who will also employ the former employees of First4Skills.
“While this has been a complex process, through close working with Deloitte we have reached an excellent outcome, which will both ensure continuity of training provision for the apprentices affected and will also safeguard the employment of the former employees of First4Skills.”
The contract with Totalis People Limited becomes operational today.
