Omagh man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Omagh Magistrates’ court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

Kevin Jones (45) of Highland Road, Beragh claimed Income Support totalling £3,156 while failing to declare capital. He was given a one month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay court costs of £52.

Mr Jones has repaid in full the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
