Gildernew expresses sympathy to fisherman’s family

Wednesday, 3 December 2008

Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Michelle Gildernew, MP MLA, has extended her deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Martin Wylie who drowned in Lough Neagh.

Minister Gildernew said: “I wish to extend sympathy to the family and friends of Martin Wylie. This is a sad and tragic loss of life, especially at this time of year and in a rural community which is so closely knit and where Mr Wylie was well known.

I commend the efforts of the Lough Neagh Rescue team and the many local fishermen and members of the community who took part in the search. I realise that this was a traumatic and emotional ordeal for all those involved.”
