At the meeting, the Moy Park delegation comprising Nigel Dunlop, new Managing Director and Eric Reid, Production Director of Moy Park Ltd discussed the factors affecting the industry, the recent Marfrig merger, and in particular the sustainability of Moy Park here, with the Minister.
Following the meeting, the Minister said: “I have listened closely to the representatives’ concerns on current difficulties in importing animal feed and the adverse impact that the increasing costs of raw materials is having on the industry. I was heartened to hear Moy Park’s reassurance about the sustainability of their business here.”
“I am also very aware of the rapidly growing demand for raw materials worldwide. Following today’s meeting I will consider the raw material cost issues raised and take these forward at EU level.”
