Gildernew meets with Omagh District Council delegation

Agriculture Minister Michelle Gildernew, MP MLA has met with a delegation from the Omagh District Council.

The delegation included Councillors Allan Rainey, Bert Wilson and Thomas Buchanan. In addition the Council’s Head of Development, Ms Alison McCullagh, also attended.

The meeting covered a range of issues including: Farm Incomes, Support for New Entrants/Young Farmers, the role of a Supermarket Ombudsman, Disallowance, Movement of Animals, Food traceability and TB and badgers.

Speaking after the meeting Minister Gildernew said: “This was a useful opportunity for the Omagh delegation and myself to discuss some highly significant issues. I believe our meeting enabled a greater understanding of the issues involved and our approach to resolving them. ”
