03 March 2008 - Farmer convicted at Magherafelt Magistrates' Court

Mr Geoffrey Kirkpatrick, Tirgarvil Lane, Upperlands, Maghera, Co Londonderry was convicted at Magherafelt Magistrates' Court today.

He was convicted of one charge of failure to keep a register of cattle, as required by Regulation 3(4) of the Cattle Identification (Enforcement) Regulations (Northern Ireland) contrary to Regulation 3(2) of the said Regulations.

Mr Kirkpatrick was also convicted of one charge of, being the keeper of bovine animals, failed to attach ear tags to an animal within 20 days of the birth of that animal as required by Regulation 3(3)(b)(ii) of the Cattle Identification (No.2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1998, contrary to Regulation 3(5) of the said Regulations.

Mr Kirkpatrick pleaded guilty and was fined £400 plus £100 costs.
