Minister Michelle Gildernew MP, MLA met with members of Holstein NI to discuss a number of wide ranging issues.
Speaking afterwards she said "I recognise that partnership with local farmers, and representatives, is essential for the success of DARD and the industry in meeting the challenges we all face.
"I found today's meeting very informative and I am encouraged that Holstein NI felt that they could present their views directly to me in such an open manner. These meetings are a positive step towards building constructive working relationships at all levels."
The Holstein NI delegation was led by their Chairman, Malcolm McLean. Topics discussed at the meeting included Bluetongue disease, working relations between DARD and farmers, implementation of the Farm Nutrient Management Scheme, payments and Rural Development funding.
