Recruitment of Salmon and Inland Fisheries Forum NI members
Tuesday, 30 March 2010The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure is seeking suitable candidates to apply for positions on the Salmon and Inland Fisheries Forum.
Following the Review of Public Administration, the Fisheries Conservancy Board (FCB) was abolished on the 1 June 2009, and its functions and staff have transferred to the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL). The FCB was the recognised representative forum for stakeholders with an interest in the salmon and inland fisheries of Northern Ireland (except in the Loughs Agency area).
The new advisory Salmon and Inland Fisheries Forum was created to represent these stakeholders, and had its inaugural meeting on 10 December 2009.
However there are still two vacancies on the new Forum and, as a result of this, DCAL is now inviting applications from the following stakeholder groups:
- landowners with riparian rights; and
- fish merchants who are licensed to buy or sell fish.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate in their application form - and if shortlisted, at interview – the extent to which they are able to satisfy the following criteria:
- Knowledge and Interest in Salmon and Inland Fisheries
- Ability to Review, Analyse and Evaluate
- Working in Partnership
