20 September 2007 - New Chair for NI Screen Commission sought

The Chair of the Northern Ireland Screen Commission, Colin Anderson, is to vacate his post later this year and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure has advertised for his successor.

The position attracts an honorarium of £10,000 per year for up to 20 days work and the person appointed will be invited to serve for four years.

The aim of the Northern Ireland Screen Commission, formerly known as the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission, is to accelerate the development of a dynamic and sustainable film and television industry in Northern Ireland.

DCAL is hoping to attract candidates with an interest in serving in the screen industries, including people who have not previously held positions in this area.

Candidates will have to demonstrate clear strategic leadership and have good people management skills. He or she will be responsible for developing the organisation’s public profile and maintaining and enhancing relationships with Government and key stakeholders.

The closing date for applications is 5 October 2007 and interviews for the post are expected to take place in November 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter.
