The meeting in the Canal Court, Newry, is one of a series that the Minister has been taking part in with post-primary principals.
Speaking after the meeting the Minister said “These meetings are part of a vital consultation process. They are an opportunity for me to hear the opinions and experiences of key education partners. I and everyone I meet in the education sector are committed to ensuring that all children and young people enjoy their education and reach their full potential.
“This is an exciting time in education with the Department bringing forward a number of key reforms in education policy. I welcomed the opportunity at the meeting to discuss the Department’s proposals in regards to issues such as post-primary transfer, the revised curriculum and the Review of Public Administration.
“I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to share their views and opinions with me. The insight I gain from meeting and talking to people is invaluable in making important decisions.”
