Education Minister Caitríona Ruane has today approved a development proposal for Cliftonville Primary School to transform to controlled integrated status
Explaining the reasons for her decision Ms Ruane said: “I believe that Cliftonville Primary School is well placed to achieve successful transformation. In 2007/08 over 10% of the school’s enrolment was from the minority religion which provides the school with an excellent base on which to build. There is no alternative integrated primary provision within a reasonable distance of this area and parents have indicated their support for controlled integrated status. I wish the school well for the future.”

- The Belfast Education and Library Board (BELB) published Development Proposal No 188 on 15 May 2008 proposing to transform Cliftonville Primary School to controlled integrated status with effect from 31 August 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter.
- Cliftonville Primary School is a co-educational controlled primary school. The total 2007/08 enrolment was 145.
