Minister addresses Sullivan Upper Politics Society
Friday, 24 April 2009Education Minister, Caitríona Ruane, has outlined her reform programme to the Politics Society at Sullivan Upper Grammar School in Holywood.
The Minister had been invited by the sixth form politics society to discuss education policy and wider political issues in preparation for their AS and A Level exams.
Caitríona Ruane said: “I had an excellent discussion with the pupils of Sullivan Upper. We spoke about my programme of reforms including Transfer 2010 and the importance of equality being at the heart of government policy-making in the north.
“They were interested to hear how I will ensure that every school is a good school and that every child has access to the education to which they are entitled. It is great to see young people take a keen interest in the politics around them and the workings of the Assembly and Executive and the North/South bodies.
"I wish them well for the future and in choosing their various career paths.”
