Due to a technical error in the bank transfer process, teachers' pensions have not reached customers’ bank accounts today.
The Department can confirm that all payments will reach customers’ accounts by Tuesday 4 September.
The Department has been in touch with all relevant banks, who have committed to deal sympathetically with affected individuals and minimise the disruption to their customers.
The Department would wish to apologise for the error, which will affect retired school teachers, retired further education lecturers and a small number of retired university lecturers. A small number of retired employees from outside bodies, whose employees are allowed to participate in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, will also be affected.
