12 May 2008 - Education Minister attends opening of new De La Salle school

Education Minister, Caitríona Ruane, attended the official opening and blessing of De La Salle College in Belfast this morning.

Speaking after the opening, the Education Minister said: “The completion of this building represents a tremendous milestone for the community. Congratulations must go to the Board of Governors and teachers who campaigned for this building.

“It is a pleasure to see so many pupils, both past and present, take part in the celebrations of the opening and I hope that every young person who passes through the door enjoys their education and life at De La Salle.

“I look forward to seeing the next big milestone for De La Salle when phase two of this development is completed in June 2009.”
