During a visit to St Conor’s Primary School in the town she met with the School Principal, the Principal of Sacred Heart College and the local Parish Priest. Both schools have been directly affected by the tragedy.
The Minister said: “I met with both Principals to offer my support at what is a very difficult time for the schools and the wider community in Omagh.
“The schools will have a key role to play in providing support for those pupils and staff deeply affected by the tragedy. I used my visit to assure them that they will be fully supported through the Western Education and Library Board and local community groups in dealing with the legacy of the fire.
“I hope that the support available will help in guiding those associated with the schools through this difficult time.”
St Conor’s Primary School will re-open tomorrow morning and support and counselling services will be in place for the return of pupils and staff.
