Wednesday, 24 February 2010

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has paid tribute to Fred Wilson OBE, who has died aged 84

Mr Wilson founded the Larne-based engineering firm FG Wilson in 1966, beginning with just six employees and growing the business to supply electrical generators around the world.

The Minister said: “I was saddened to hear of Fred Wilson’s death. His hard work ethic and forward thinking vision regarding business and global export markets made FG Wilson a market leader in the field of engineering.

“Fred was a true example of how drive, determination and know-how can make Northern Ireland business successful on the world stage. This is a lasting legacy of which we can all be proud.

“I extend my condolences to Fred’s family circle at this sad time.”
