The Minister was speaking at Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade’s business breakfast this morning and he said: “Local business successes are vital to Northern Ireland’s overall economic growth and there are many such examples in the Newry and Mourne area.
“There are a number of locally based companies with high value-added jobs that reflect the way forward for Northern Ireland’s economic growth. I would urge all businesses to invest in R&D, innovation and to focus more on international trade to grow the economy.”
The Minister commended the work of Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade and said: “Newry is making great strides in economic development and this confidence in the area is clearly reflected by the recent investments from Teleperformance, First Derivatives and other companies expanding in the region.”
Following his speech at the Newry and Mourne Chamber of Commerce Mr Dodds visited Teleperformance to officially open their new contact centre in Newry.
