Dodds welcomes masterplan for Armagh City
Wednesday, 27 May 2009Finance Minister, Nigel Dodds, has welcomed a new Masterplan for the historic Cathedral city of Armagh.
The Minister said the Armagh Masterplan, launched by Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie today, highlights the Executive’s continued commitment to deliver the plans and priorities which it set in the Budget.
Mr Dodds said: “The Executive is committed to continued capital investment, which has enabled this project, worth nearly £76,000, to progress.
“My Department’s Central Procurement Directorate (CPD) managed the procurement of the professional team led by Paul Hogarth Company, Belfast on behalf of the Department for Social Development’s Regional Development Office.
“The project will reinvigorate the historical heritage of the city and help boost the local economy.”
The professional team was appointed following a secondary competition from CPD 's Planner Led Multi-disciplinary Team Framework Agreement which was set up by CPD for use by DSD and other Departments in 2007.
