Minister congratulates South Eastern Radiographers on winning UK award

The Health Minister has congratulated a team of radiographers from the South Eastern Trust on winning a prestigious UK award.

The Paediatric Special Interest Team from the Radiology Departments in the Ulster, Ards and Bangor Hospitals were the overall winners in the Society and College of Radiographers UK Team of the Year 2009.

Praising the team on their success, Michael McGimpsey said: "This is an excellent achievement for this team of radiographers which is evidence of their commitment and dedication in doing their best for their patients.

“The four radiographers have spent the last few years developing a child centred environment and in doing so have contributed to the improvement of imaging services for children. Children often find the hospital experience daunting but this team developed an excellent understanding of the needs of children and by doing that they deserve the credit that this prestigious award brings."
