Vehicle tax to rise for cars and light vans
Wednesday, 29 April 2009The rates of vehicle tax for cars and light vans will increase, the Driver and Vehicle Agency confirmed today.
The price rise will come into effect on 1 May 2009 and is in line with the announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in November 2008.
Motorists who tax their vehicle before 1 May 2009 will continue to pay the old rate.
Tax applications received on or after 1 May 2009 will be charged the increased amount.
V11 / V13 tax reminders issued before the budget will show the old rates of duty. Motorists should check the correct rates of duty if taxing their vehicle on or after 1 May 2009.
