Marking World Environment Day, the Minister watched Year 5 pupils perform “Rainforest Drama”, before talking to them about what they have learned about recycling. The Minister also spoke to pupils about what they did to kick the carbon dioxide habit, the theme for this year’s World Environment Day.
Congratulating Bryson on its programme, the Minister said:
“Bryson’s education officers are giving Northern Ireland’s young people an easy and effective guide to protecting our world-renowned environment.”
Noting the children’s enthusiasm for their subject, Arlene Foster continued:
“Recycling doesn’t have to be difficult, or an inconvenience and it’s something everyone can do every day, as the Bryson education programme shows.”
Bryson’s education officers, based in Belfast, Londonderry and Enniskillen, visit primary schools throughout Northern Ireland to teach children about managing waste through recycling.
