Coulter Demolition and Recycling Ltd. of 20 Ballyknock Road, Hillsborough, was fined £600 plus court costs at Lisburn Magistrates’ court on today for breaches of waste management legislation.
Environment and Heritage Service (EHS) officers investigated complaints of the illegal disposal of controlled waste at a site on Pond Park Road, Lisburn, in August 2005.
The company admitted transporting approximately 3,000 tonnes of construction and demolition waste from Suffolk Road, Belfast, to the site on Pond Park Road, Lisburn, to construct a laneway.
The company pleaded guilty to two charges under the Waste and Contaminated Land Order (NI) 1997, relating to the deposit of controlled waste on the land without a waste management licence.
