17 May 2007 - Fermanagh wins top website award

Environment Minister Arlene Foster congratulated Fermanagh District Council today on being awarded a prestigious national website award.

The Minister said: “As Local Government minister I am acutely aware of the need for good communication at all levels in government, and indeed, in our society and, of course, websites have now become a primary source of information.

“As a Fermanagh resident I am particularly pleased that Fermanagh District Council has won this prestigious award for its website and am delighted for the Council and the staff involved in this well deserved recognition.”

Notes to Editors:

The websites are assessed by an independent panel of judges without informing the organisations they are being assessed.

Fermanagh District Council received the Northern Ireland award today in Loughborough from the Society of Public Information Networks. The award is based upon the findings of the Society of Information Technology Management’s Insight ‘Better Connected?’ website surveys.
