08 October 2007 - Paintball signs were illegal

Mr Richard Albert Huey Allen of 'The Oakfire Paintball' business, 227 Glenshane Road, Co Londonderry was fined at Londonderry Magistrates’ Court on Friday for displaying four illegal signs, one of which was on a listed gate.

The business is located on the A6 Glenshane Road close to Burntollet Bridge.

The Planning Service brought the case under Articles 44(1) and 84 of the Planning (NI) Order.

Mr Richard Albert Huey Allen, the business owner, was fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £166.

In addition, Mr Alexander Montgomery Allen, the landowner, was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £150.

The resident magistrate ordered them to remove the advertisement signs.
