The inquiry will be held in the Clarion Hotel, Carrickfergus at 10:30 am and is expected to last about seven days. This inquiry was announced by the Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy on 20 June this year.
The proposed road improvement works include the provision of a dual carriageway between Jordanstown and Seapark which involves widening of the existing Shore Road from the University of Ulster to Station Road, Greenisland followed by a new inland route from this junction to Seapark.

1.The Statutory Orders for the proposed improvement works were published in March this year.
These include:
- The Environmental Statement – which sets out the Environmental impacts and proposed mitigation measures.
- The Draft Direction Order – which details the proposed changes to the road, and
- The Notice of Intention to Make a Vesting Order – which details the land requirements for the proposed scheme.
2.The A2 Shore Road Greenisland Scheme is included in the Roads Service Major Works Preparation Pool, at an estimated cost of £55.2 Million
