Traffic will cross the new Grosvenor Road Bridge in Belfast for the first time on Monday 22 October.
Initially, one lane will be opened to traffic in each direction across the new bridge. This will then allow the temporary bridge that has kept the Grosvenor Road open during the construction of the new underpass over the last year to be dismantled.
The next main milestone at the Grosvenor Road junction is the construction of the new slip roads, which are expected to be completed before March 2008. Traffic will not be permitted to join or leave the Westlink at the Grosvenor Road junction until the slip roads are completed.
Pedestrian access across the new bridge will be maintained along the north side of the bridge.
