The scheme is required to provide an extended lifespan of the carriageway surface on this busy section of road.
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to traffic by restricting works at peak hours, through suitable traffic diversions, and by minimising the length of road affected at any time. However, there will be delays to traffic and journeys should be planned accordingly making use of alternative routes where possible.
During certain stages of the scheme, traffic will be diverted via Toome Village outside peak periods. Where it is appropriate, full carriageway closures of the By-Pass will speed up progress when executing the work and reduce the overall time required to undertake the work and hence reduce the inconvenience of the travelling public.
Advance notice of road closures will be published in the press and on the Roads Service website at www.roadsni.gov.uk. Additional variable message signing will be in use throughout the period of the contract to give information to drivers.
Roads Service regrets the inconvenience these necessary work will cause to the travelling public and any disruption that may occur.
