07 August 2007 - New traffic management arrangements at Longlands Bridge (Arthur Road)

Longlands Bridge will be reduced to a single lane and temporary traffic lights introduced from 10 August. This bridge carries the Arthur Road over the M2 motorway.

These temporary traffic arrangements are necessary to allow preliminary works to divert public utility services and to carry out investigatory works on the bridge before any demolition work is carried out.

The replacement of the Longlands Bridge is part of the current contract which includes widening the M2 from Sandyknowes to Greencastle and the replacement of Collin and Hightown Bridges, as well as the strengthening of Bellevue Bridge.

Drivers using Longlands Bridge should expect slight delays and Roads Service and the Contractor, HMC, would apologise for any inconvenience caused.
