Murphy Unveils Winning Christmas Card Artwork
Thursday, 3 December 2009Regional Development Minister, Conor Murphy today visited Rathore School to unveil the winning artwork for a Christmas card competition.
The Christmas card competition was launched earlier this year under the Community Engagement theme of the Department for Regional Development’s (DRD) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy. The winner of the competition from Rathore School was Mary McEntee, whose artwork was used for the DRD Christmas card.
The Minister said: “As part of my commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, I launched a Christmas card competition with two special needs schools to design the artwork for this year’s DRD cards.
“I welcome the opportunity to meet with the children at Rathore School who participated in the competition to hear how enjoyable the experience was for them. I have been impressed by the standard of artwork and I really had a difficult job to pick the winner.
“I have enjoyed visiting the school to meet with the children, their families and staff and to see first hand the excellent work that takes place at Rathore School.”
