HMC (Highway Management Construction) will be demolishing half of Collin Bridge on the weekend of Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th August. Works will be carried out on Friday night from 10pm - 6am, on Saturday night from 10pm - 11am and on Sunday night from 10pm to 6am.
Preparatory works will also be necessary during the previous week to the actual demolition, from Monday 30th July - Thursday 2nd August. This work will also be at night.
During the demolition it will be necessary to close the M2 Motorway between Sandyknowes and Greencastle Junctions. Signed diversion routes will be in operation between the two junctions. Access to the Collinbridge area will be maintained throughout the demolition. Traffic crossing the bridge will be controlled by STOP/GO boards. There may be a slight delay for vehicles accessing the Collinbridge area, however, disruption will be kept to a minimum.
Roads Service and HMC apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential bridge replacement work.
Special arrangements will be in place for the emergency services during the demolition. Once the part demolition is completed traffic management over Collin Bridge will return to the current temporary single lane arrangement.
