22 June 2007 - Roadworks alert on M22

Roadworks will start on Monday 25 June on a section of the M22 motorway near Randalstown, Co Antrim.

The works will enable the replacement of the existing central reserve grass bank with a new safety barrier.

To facilitate this work a four kilometre section of the M22 motorway will be reduced to single lane operation in each direction and will be subject to a 50mph temporary speed limit.

The work is expected to take approximately ten weeks to complete and during this period motorists are advised to reduce their speeds accordingly and take extra care driving through the roadworks.

There may be slight delays during peak traffic periods and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys. The hard shoulders will remain open but for emergency use only.
