Regional Development Minister, Conor Murphy, MP, MLA today welcomed the launch of the Consumer Council’s research into Consumer Views of Water Reform.

Speaking at the launch in Parliament Buildings, Mr Murphy praised the work of the Council.

“I want to congratulate the Consumer Council for the very powerful voice that it provides in representing the views of citizen’s here.

“Today we face new challenges of how we will fund our water and sewerage services to provide the infrastructure necessary for the 21st-century.

“I welcome this research in terms of its robustness, timeliness and indeed relevancy as the comprehensive and independent review into water and sewerage services, which I recently announced, commences under the chairmanship of Professor Paddy Hillyard.

“The Consumer Council’s research published today provides a valuable contribution to this debate.”
