The Minister expressed his thanks for the contribution which Mrs Bryan has made to the water and sewerage industry over the last four years. During this time there has been an unprecedented level of investment in infrastructure which has improved environmental compliance and drinking water quality for the public. He also acknowledged that the last few years had seen a significant level of change in the delivery arrangements for water and sewerage services and that in her role as Chief Executive Mrs Bryan had contributed to that process.
The Minister went on to say: “The company must now prepare for the challenges ahead to meet the needs of consumers and the various stakeholders. It is important going forward that, with renewed vigour and fresh leadership, strong relationships are forged with the regulators and representatives of the consumer to ensure that NI Water delivers quality services as cost effectively as possible.
“The NIW Board will now begin the process to recruit a new Chief Executive. In the meantime, I am grateful to the Chairman of NI Water, Chris Mellor, for agreeing to serve as acting Chief Executive.”
