Coleraine man convicted of Benefit Fraud

A man was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

He was fined £100 for failure to declare capital while claiming Income Support totalling £7,798.

He is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 85 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
