Londonderry man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Londonderry Magistrates' Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

The man was given a three month sentence suspended for two years and fined £150 for wrongful encashment of Income Support totalling £170.

He is required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 329 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
