A woman has been convicted at Laganside Court for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
Delia McAuley (54) of Carlisle Square, Belfast claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £31,721 while failing to declare she had capital. She was given an 18 month custodial sentence suspended for two years.
Miss McAuley is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 179 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
