Magherafelt man convicted of Benefit Fraud
Monday, 4 January 2010A man was convicted at Magherafelt Magistrates' Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
The man failed to declare capital while claiming Income Support totalling £7,076. He was given a two year conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £58.
He is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This is the first successful prosecution this year.
