07 July 2008 - Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Antrim court

One person was convicted at Antrim Magistrates’ Court today for falsely claiming benefits.

Lynda McDonald (28) of Greenpark Drive, Antrim, claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £3,620 while failing to declare she was working. She was fined £1,200 plus costs.

She is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 225 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
