Coleraine man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Friday 4 September for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £61 court costs for failing to declare employment while claiming Income Support totalling £1,717.

He is also required by the Social Security Agency to repay the money he wrongfully obtained.

This brings to 296 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
