08 October 2008 - Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Enniskillen court

A woman was convicted at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Margaret Boyd (53) of Townhill Park, Irvinestown claimed Income Support totalling £11,128 while failing to declare a change in her circumstances. She was fined £500 and given a conditional discharge.

Ms Boyd is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 381 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
