09 September 2008 - Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast court

A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Naomi Hynes (21) of Linfield Avenue, Belfast was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £22 for duplicate encashment of Job Seekers Allowance totalling £230.

Ms Hynes is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 318 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
