Two Convicted of Benefit Fraud at Coleraine Court
Monday, 10 May 2010Two people were convicted at Strabane Magistrates’ Court on Friday 7 May for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
A woman was sentenced to 12 months probation and 80 hours community service for failure to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £10,704.
A man was fined £250 and ordered to pay court costs of £85 for failure to declare capital while claiming Income Support and Rates Relief totalling £6,469.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
