Man convicted of benefit fraud at Strabane Court
Thursday, 10 September 2009A man has been convicted at Strabane Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
The man failed to declare capital while claiming Jobseekers Allowance totalling £7,411. He was given four months imprisonment, suspended for two years, on 3 counts and a further conditional discharge for two years. A compensation order was granted for £6,411.
This brings to 304 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
