10 November 2008 - Cookstown woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman has been convicted at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Eileen Currie (30) of Coolnafranky Park, Cookstown claimed Income Support totalling £2,139 while failing to declare employment. She was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £40.

Miss Currie is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 437 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
