Dromara man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Banbridge Magistrates’ court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

He claimed Income Support totalling £3,447 while failing to declare capital. He was given a two year conditional discharge.

He has since repaid the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 426 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
