11 November 2008 - Armagh woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman has been convicted at Newry Crown Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Debra Williamson (35) of Old Forge,Killylea, Armagh claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £20,545 while failing to declare her partner’s employment. She was given a six month custodial sentence suspended for three years.

Mrs Williamson is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
