12 September 2008 - Omagh woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Omagh Magistrates' Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Sharon McGrath (37) of Kelvin Glen, Omagh, claimed Income Support totaling £1,913 whilst failing to declare she was working full time. She was given a £200 fine.

Ms McGrath is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 331 the number of successful prosecutions this year.
