Two convicted of Benefit Fraud at Downpatrick Court
Tuesday, 13 April 2010Two people were convicted at Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
A man was fined £480 and ordered to pay £30 court costs for failure to declare capital while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £15,789. He has repaid the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
Another man was fined £200 ordered to pay £20 court costs for failure to declare employment while claiming Income Support totalling £3,593. He is required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
