Comber woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Downpatrick Magistrates Court on Friday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

She failed to declare capital while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £19,155. She was given 18 months imprisonment, suspended for three years. A compensation order was granted for £19,155.

This brings to 429 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
